Preparation: Place the circular gauge on a flat tabletop and make sure that both the movable and fixed legs are in a free state and that there are no impurities or residual ink to affect its use.
Adjust the distance: Adjust the distance between the movable and fixed legs according to the size of the circle to be drawn. This step is very critical as it determines the size of the circle.
Position the centre of the circle: Determine the position of the centre of the circle by gently pressing the steel pin on the fixed leg onto the paper. Note that the stepped end of the steel pin faces downwards to prevent the eye of the pin from widening.
Drawing the circle: Keeping the position of the centre of the circle unchanged, turn the gauge in a clockwise direction with appropriate force. At the same time, make sure that the gauge is tilted slightly forward so that both the steel tip and the pen tip are perpendicular to the paper and the lines of the circle are drawn more smoothly.
Finish drawing: A perfect circle is completed when the movable leg of the compass has been rotated around the fixed leg for one week.
